Why is there a weird symbol in the EDGAR HTML where my bullet should be?

If you have imported your document and converted the document/PDF to EDGAR HTML sometimes you will see a symbol where your bullet should be. This happens when there is an unrecognized bullet that is inside the document that the SEC does not allow. The best way to fix this error is to change the bullet type inside the original source document. You have the option of changing it inside the EDGAR HTML Editor as well.

Another option that you have inside SEC Publisher besides going into the EDGAR HTML Editor is to click the options button at the top and go to Character Substitution -> HTML. Once you have this opened there will be a box with the title unknown characters/symbols in source document and another box that gives you Available Characters. Using Available characters, it gives you the option of what you would like to replace the unknown character/symbol with an Available Character.

SEC Publisher is so user-friendly, I was preparing filings on the first day I received it.  It was very easy to learn and when I did have a question, the customer service response was timely and easy to understand.  Thanks!
