Submitting a Test Filing

After a submission has been created and validated, a test filing may be done. To do this, use the following method:

  1. From the Submission Menu, click on File followed by File Test or File Test as Agent, as appropriate.

Description: test

  1. The  following query may appear:

Tip: You may disable this query by selecting an option in the EDGAR Submission tab of Preferences. For more information, see “User Confirmation Required to Send Test Filings” under EDGAR.

  1. If you choose to continue with the filing, the following warning may also appear:

This warning appears only when a submission has not been validated prior to filing. Click ‘Yes’ to continue with the test filing or No to cancel filing.

  1. When the Status bar on the Submit page reaches 100%, the test filing is completed and will receive an accession number.

Warning: Receiving an accession number does not mean that the filing was accepted by the SEC.

Tip: After a test filing, unless there is an error, you will not need to change anything before you can submit a live filing.
