The Project Properties

The Project Properties function stores information regarding the project. This information is used to create document headers when using the proofing functions and can be used to store client and job information for internal use. The information stored in the Project Properties is not sent to the SEC.

To access the Project Properties, right-click on one of the files under Management View or on the white space under the files, and select Project Properties in the Context Menu, or click on Properties under Project Information.

1.     Project

The Project tab contains fields that pertain to general project properties. These properties are meant to assist you in identifying the job and client associated with the project.

a.     Name

The name of the project. Please note that this need not be the same as the name of the project file.

b.    Description

A description of the project.

c.     Matter/Job

The name of the matter or job.

d.    Client Name

The name of the client associated with the project.

e.     Agent Name

f.     Revision

g.    Comments

2.     Base Path

The Base Path tab contains information about the base path of the project. The Base Path area displays information about the base path set for the project. The text area contains the base path, if any is specified. The Track Project Filename Path option must be unchecked to set a base path for the project.

The project base path is the path to which all files in the project are relative. The application uses this path to locate files when those files are added to the project. It is therefore highly recommended that you do not change the base path after files have been added to the project. Changing the base path may result in an inability to open or locate project files.

It is not recommended that you move files associated with a project. Files may be moved and a new base path set for the project, though it is recommended that only advanced users use this function.

3.     Browse

Opens the standard windows browser through which the base path for the project can be set.

4.     Track Project Filename Path

The default setting for the project base path. When this option is checked, the application will use the project file’s location as the path for the project. Please note that moving a project file after its creation will not update the relative location of its files, even when this option is checked.

Press the ‘OK button to save any changes made to the Project Properties. Press the ‘Cancel button to close the dialog without saving any changes.
